How German students study engineering & university in France

Everything German students need, in order: enrolment, the diplomas, the money and the schools - sourced, and free to use.

As an EU/EEA student, you have free movement: you don’t need a visa and you don’t go through Campus France. You apply and enrol directly at your chosen institution - like a French student - and you pay the same low national fees. You still need to handle housing, health cover (bring your EHIC) and, if useful, recognition of your previous credits (ECTS).

Your route, step by step

  1. Pick your engineering & university programme and apply directly to the institution (or via Parcoursup for a first-year place if you hold an EU/European bac).
  2. Enrol - no visa needed. Bring your EHIC for health cover and pay the CVEC (€105).
  3. Sort your housing (CROUS, Visale) and, if useful, recognition of your previous credits (ECTS / ENIC-NARIC).
